So this post is a little late, considering my birthday was more than a week ago, but seeing as how the number of comments has dropped lately (cough, cough) maybe i'm losing a bit of motivation.
Alison and Gustavo got me a delicious cake from Perini, but Leo got me a donut that kind of looked like a cake. And a pink #3 candle. Here is a picture of me and the donut; I think I look like Homer Simpson:

Kazu from Japan, Leo from Michigan, and Taisa (hope I spelled the right) from Salvador but who studied in Michigan:

and then Debbie from Ireland and Nate from, of course, Michigan. Believe it or not the next night we were out to dinner with a group and out of the 8 people at the table, 4 were MSU grads. Anyway, I put this photo up just so that you don't think Debbie's face really looks like it does in the next picture.

I'm still waiting on some more carnaval photos from Heidi, if I ever get them I'll put them up.
In other news, I started Portuguese classes at the Universidade Federal da Bahia on Tuesday. They're going well so far and there seems to be some cool people in the class.
On the 17th I'll be heading to Rio de Janeiro, where I will be sure to hit up an Irish pub at night and wear my green. And have some real beer. Davey and Kristy arrive on the 21st- we'll spend a few days in the city and then head to Buzios to relax. And then MJ gets here on March 30th.
And no, I still do not know when I'm coming home.
