Jesus and the Blimp:
The view from Corcovado was just breathtaking:
Relaxing in the hotel room:
The view from our 24th floor balcony:
Another view from the balcony:
Corcovado was fun!
My least favorite dinner ever, though Davey was in absolute heaven. I tried to trick him into eating a chicken heart, but the waiter told him what it was:
Me, hammock, ocean:
I'll try to get the Buzios pics up in the next few days...

meu aniversário
So this post is a little late, considering my birthday was more than a week ago, but seeing as how the number of comments has dropped lately (cough, cough) maybe i'm losing a bit of motivation.
Alison and Gustavo got me a delicious cake from Perini, but Leo got me a donut that kind of looked like a cake. And a pink #3 candle. Here is a picture of me and the donut; I think I look like Homer Simpson:
yay! i'm old!
Kazu from Japan, Leo from Michigan, and Taisa (hope I spelled the right) from Salvador but who studied in Michigan:
and then Debbie from Ireland and Nate from, of course, Michigan. Believe it or not the next night we were out to dinner with a group and out of the 8 people at the table, 4 were MSU grads. Anyway, I put this photo up just so that you don't think Debbie's face really looks like it does in the next picture.
Tito, aka Eddie Murphy, and Debbie looking scary:
I'm still waiting on some more carnaval photos from Heidi, if I ever get them I'll put them up.
In other news, I started Portuguese classes at the Universidade Federal da Bahia on Tuesday. They're going well so far and there seems to be some cool people in the class.
On the 17th I'll be heading to Rio de Janeiro, where I will be sure to hit up an Irish pub at night and wear my green. And have some real beer. Davey and Kristy arrive on the 21st- we'll spend a few days in the city and then head to Buzios to relax. And then MJ gets here on March 30th.
And no, I still do not know when I'm coming home.

trancoso
I was going to wait until I got a couple of carnaval pictures from Heidi so that I could post in chronological order, but it seems you guys just can't wait.
hi!:
babies and boobs, something for everyone in this photo:
hanging out in the pool- heidi, marina, a naked baby, alison, gustavo, a naked ju, marina's boyfriend
some people hanging out on the street:
Salvador at sunset:
A few days into carnaval, Heidi and I headed south to a city named Trancoso. The first night we stayed in a little house that was not worth the R$40 we paid for it. This is me inside the very romantic floral mosquito netting:
The beach/river at Trancoso:
On the beach:
